Positively Arts Foundation (PAF) is a 501c3 non-profit foundation dedicated to using the arts to EMPOWER, INSPIRE, and to HEAL. EMPOWER by creating positive performance arts opportunities for students despite their financial need or accessibility to the arts. PAF gives them the chance to shine, gain confidence, and feel proud of their accomplishments onstage. We encourage creating art for arts sake alone, not for fame or accolades. We INSPIRE by bridging the gap between the aspiring artist and the professional artist. Get Launched Vegas directly pairs students with headliners and exemplifies our mission of mentorship, inspiration, and collaboration. And finally, we HEAL through our anti-bullying school tours and our overall anti-bullying message. We believe in creating a safe and supportive environment for our students. For example, in our Broadway Dreamers performing arts school, instead of getting a prize at the end of the day for the best singer or best dancer, we give out a Showmanship Award to those students who showed the best love, support, and respect within class that day. Also, the kids are encouraged to write “Happy Notes” to one another every day, writing something positive and encouraging to their fellow students. Only in this environment can students truly feel free vulnerable enough to express themselves artistically and to the fullest of their abilities.
For a town that claims to be “The Entertainment Capital”, Las Vegas’ community of professional artists seems to exist in a disparate world than the community of aspiring artists right here in the Valley; namely, the students of the Clark County School District (CCSD). Working under the guidance and supervision of the CCSD’s Fine Arts Department and School Community Partnership Office, Positively Arts Foundation bridges the gap between the professional and aspiring artist, making a meaningful impact on public education in and through the arts.
The Foundation’s solution is two-fold. First, generate arts funding for the classrooms, after-school programs, anti-bullying school tours, and scholarships for the performing arts. Second, use Positively Arts Foundation-trained teaching artists to empower and inspire students through our Broadway Dreamers performing arts school, as artists in residence in schools, and as mentors to students through our Get Launched Vegas series. It is our continuing mission to not only strengthen public education through arts-integration programs, but to keep the arts alive by showcasing the talents of both professional and aspiring artists within the Las Vegas community.
The generosity of our donors is vital as we continue our efforts here in the Clark County School District and neighboring communities. We are always looking for volunteers who wish to strengthen our existing programs. We’re also looking for in-kind donations to our raffles and silent auctions.
If you are a teaching artist and wish to donate your time and expertise to Positively Arts Foundation, please contact us at: email@example.com. You may join one of our existing programs or even design and implement your OWN arts program in the school district! The possibilities are endless! Help write a note in a child’s song and sign up to be a PAF teaching artist today!

David was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, the youngest son of a disabled mother and truck-driver father. Coming from these humble beginnings he learned the importance of a community in an individual’s life, relying on the kindness of others through grants and scholarships to assist in sending him to some of the best schools Chicago had to offer. David was class of 1995 from St. Ignatius College Prep, graduating Summa Cum Laude as an Illinois State Scholar and member of the National Honor Society. These accomplishments earned David a full scholarship to Loyola University Chicago where he graduated with honors, concentrating in Criminal Justice and Theology. David earned a Master’s Degree with honors in Criminal and Social Justice from Lewis University, concentrating his research on the factors which drive public perception of the police.
David began working as soon as the law would allow, employed as a janitor at age 16 to help pay his high school tuition. This segued to part-time civilian employment with the Chicago Police Department and after several years David left government work to join the corporate world. While maintaining a full class schedule at Loyola, David seized an opportunity with Embassy Suites Hotel, a subsidiary of Hilton Hotels, and began full-time employment with their company. Through hard work and dedication David was promoted several times and, at age 20, became the youngest Department Director in Embassy Suites/Hilton Hotels Corporation – overseeing security operations at Embassy Suites flagship downtown Chicago property as well as their suburban Lombard property. After gaining invaluable management experience and having reached a plateau with Embassy/Hilton, David returned to the Chicago Police Department as a sworn officer. David worked as a patrol and tactical officer in the Englewood neighborhood before being promoted to Sergeant where he spent the last five years focusing on violent robberies throughout the South Side. During this time David was also president of a successful private investigative agency, earning the privilege to be the Chicago Public School System’s exclusive investigations contractor. David’s knowledge of the job, team-playing capability, and management experience most recently positioned him as a candidate for Superintendent of Police with Mayor Emanuel’s new administration.
David knows and understands the value of community involvement in both a child’s and adult’s life, as well as the need to give back; he sees it each and every day he goes to work. David’s mother and father both experienced untimely deaths, passing at ages 47 and 55 respectively, which helps drive his fervent support of various Multiple Sclerosis and Cancer research foundations. David was the first Chicago police officer at Ground Zero, arriving on September 12th, and spent the next several days assisting in rescue efforts; he also volunteered for a year deployment to Iraq where he helped train and mentor Iraqi Police Officers to regain much-needed public trust and support.

MO5AIC is a 5-man vocal supernova that will leave you scratching your head wondering where “the band” is. Now what does this mean exactly? It means that every sound you will hear, from the drum and bass grooves to the horn and guitar licks, is all created by the human voice. You’ll swear otherwise, but MO5AIC uses no instruments. Give them 5 mics and they’ll give you a show. Simple…
Having worked with the likes of Jay Leno, Prince and Tony Bennett, this interactive and finely tuned show is great for all ages and demographics. Need a high energy meeting opener? Wanna spice up that awards ceremony? Need a headliner show for your company party? Look no further!
From jazz and big-band to hip-hop and even opera, there will be something for everybody. MO5AIC can also customize lyrics and/or songs to cater to your specific event needs. Just ask! And they travel light. Soundchecking is a breeze and a no-instrument set up keeps it nice and…simple. Noticing a pattern here??
Molodi is a band of body percussionists who incorporate and fuse traditional African American stepping, Tap and South African gumboot along with using the influences of social issues into an undeniable contemporary style that isn’t confined to a specific set of rules. Having frequent collaborations with actors, acoustic bands, singers, slam poets, rappers and dancers of all different backgrounds allows for a versatile performance everytime. Audience members can be guaranteed they will never see the same Molodi show twice because there is always a level of improvisation and experimentation that lends itself to connecting the artists with the audience on a more personal level. Molodi’s Rhythmic punch infuses itself into audience members who suddenly realize that instead of watching the show, they are part of the show. Our overall goal with Molodi is not to simply merge art forms together, but to let the art thrive in its contemporary setting and inspire a sense of unity among all people through rhythm, collaboration and personal expression.
